If you are having problems installing or running Lunar Explorer, you may find solutions here.
Problem: Obtaining an Unlock Code
- Go to www.lunarexplorer.com
- If you have not yet registered on the site, click the “Register” button, enter the appropriate information, then click ‘Submit’.
- Log onto the site by entering your Username and Password.
- At the left of the screen is a User Menu with a button labeled "Authorization (Get an Unlock Code)"
- Click that button. You will go to a page asking for you to enter your Serial Number and Machine ID. You can type those numbers, but Lunar Explorer has buttons which will copy them and let you paste them into this page.
- Click on ‘Submit Request’.
- When you receive your unlock code, highlight it, copy it and paste it into the appropriate box in Lunar Explorer. Then click the button labelled "Unlock". NOTE: If typing your serial number, be sure to use capital letters, dashes included and with no spaces at the beginning or end.
Problem: Unable to type Serial Number into Lunar Explorer (the box is grayed out and inaccessible)…
- Locate the configuration file. It’s called LunarExplorer.INI, and it’s located in the folder into which you installed Lunar Explorer. (which is C:\Program Files\Lunar Explorer unless you specified something else during the install process)
- This is a text file and can be edited with any word processor or editor, such as Notepad. Open the file. There should be a line somewhere in the file which reads…
Serial Number = ..........
- Type your serial number after the equals sign.
- Save the file and try again.
Problem: Error message: ‘1.0’ is not a valid floating point value.
- Open your Regional and Language Options. (This is part of Windows Control Panel)
- Under the Regional Options tab, see if the Preference box reads English (United States). If it does not, select that choice from the drop down menu.
- As an alternative, if you do not wish to change all the Regional Options, click on Customize. Then set the Decimal Symbol to '.' (dot) and the Digit Grouping Symbol to ',' (comma).
- Start Lunar Explorer again. The error message should be gone.
